Dream of the Desert is the Kingdom’s first ultra-luxury train, conceived and developed by Arsenale Group, Italy’s leader in high-end rail and hospitality, and expected to begin operation in late 2026.
Blending Italian craftsmanship with Saudi artistry, each suite, lounge and dining car offers a world of elegance and intimacy. Dream of the Desert traverses the Kingdom with several itineraries, offering thoughtfully curated on- and off-board experiences that immerse travellers in Saudi Arabia’s landscapes, heritage and culture.
The train comprises 14 carriages with 33 luxury cabins to accommodate up to 66 passengers.
On board, dining becomes a destination in itself. The two restaurant cars present exceptional menus curated by renowned local and internationally starred chefs, offering a fine‑dining experience that celebrates both Saudi and global culinary artistry.
Every element of Dream of the Desert embodies a seamless fusion of tradition and modern refinement, masterfully interpreted by architect and interior designer Aline Asmar d’Amman and her studio, Culture in Architecture. From the sweeping majlis-inspired lounge to the intimate private suites, each space evokes elegance, serenity and a deep connection to the Kingdom’s landscapes and culture. Crafted textures, reinterpreted textile weavings and rich wood carvings capture the essence of tradition.
The desert’s palette of earthy tones, sandy browns and oasis green are softly lit by the cinematic glow of Murano blown glass evoking the warmth of Oriental lanterns.
This train, born from a collaboration between Arsenale Group, Saudi Arabia Railways, the Ministry of Culture and the Saudi Tourism Authority, combines tranquillity and luxury, traversing deserts, ancient cities and modern wonders.
