ISAMU NOGUCHI CHESS SET

Almost as much art as board game, this chess set by Japanese-American sculptor Isamu Noguchi was designed in 1944 and has stood the test of time.
Facing scarcity of quality materials, the artist eventually landed on plexiglass, a then new experimental material. Noguchi’s chess pieces are mini abstract sculptures which became prototypes for the sculptures he later conceived in that era. The modern shapes, with the exception of the rook, feature headlike forms and arched spines. Noguchi’s Perspex folding chess board evokes Indian and Persian black lacquered chess boards that had round inlays (in place of traditional squares) made from mother of pearl or ivory. Noguchi’s version is designed with red and translucent white circular plexiglass inlays.
This newly issued, authorised edition of the Isamu Noguchi Chess Set is made in Switzerland from Perspex plexiglass.

AMALGAM COLLECTION
MCLAREN W1 SCALE MODEL

With just 199 pieces available, this true scale model of the McLaren W1 consists of thousands of precisely engineered parts built from McLaren Automotive’s own reworked CAD designs, paint codes and material specifications.
The development process for the 1:8 scale model took more than 3,000 hours, and Amalgam’s experts spend an additional 300 hours on assembly. Each model is hand built and assembled by a team of craftspeople. All told, the model measures more than 57cm long and includes opening doors and it has undergone detailed scrutiny by both engineering and design teams to ensure complete accuracy of representation.

S-WORKS TARMAC SL8 ARTIST SERIES FRAMESET

Not content with producing one of the world’s fastest race bikes, Specialized is now turning the frame into a canvas for artistic expression. As artists who ride and riders who create, globally recognised creative talents, Yoon Hyup, Parra and Lucas Beaufort were invited to interpret ‘One Bike to Rule Them All’ through their own vision, shaping designs inspired by the movement, clarity and feeling they find both on and off the bike. The result is a series of frames featuring everything from urban motifs to ’90s cycling-inspired throwbacks. Only 150 pieces of each design will be produced, so they’re not only beautiful but also rare.

BERLUTI
ALESSANDRO 1895 OXFORD

Imagined by Alessandro Berluti, father of the brand’s founder Torello Berluti, who dreamed of a shoe made from a single piece of leather, unadorned with just three sets of eyelets, the Alessandro has evolved over the years without ever losing the clean architecture that became a signature.
For 2026, the shoe has been reimagined with fuller, gently sculpted contours. The soul has been redesigned for a more precise fit and the outer leather is lighter for increased suppleness. Crafted from Venezia calfskin, the ready-to-wear shoes come in archival colours Charcoal Brown and Charcoal Grey. There’s also a made-to-order edition for collectors and connoisseurs.
