The one-of-one Land Rover Defender D110 commission, revealed by the Arkansas-based bespoke design and engineering house, serves as a definitive pivot point, positioning Helderburg as a creator of proprietary automotive systems that transcend the traditional restomod label, with prices starting at USD350,000.
In the world of high-stakes espionage, the right tool is never found on a shelf. It is engineered for the mission.
Inspired by the effortless elegance and mechanical sophistication of the James Bond legacy, this D110 was developed to exist in its own category where every component is treated as part of a unified in-house ecosystem. Unlike traditional builders who assemble vehicles from aftermarket upgrades, Helderburg founder Paul Potratz treats his vehicles as a complete proprietary system.
“I envisioned crafting a Helderburg with a sleek, James Bond-inspired design,” said Paul.

“My objective was to fashion a Defender that prioritised its smooth lines, invoking a feeling of elegance. Byzek achieved the ideal equilibrium: a commanding presence exuding ruggedness, capability and timelessness, all while offering an interior reminiscent of an English library.”
Byzek features a re-engineered drivetrain developed entirely in-house. This system replaces the original Land Rover characteristics with a smooth, linear power delivery and refined road manners specifically designed to offer a Grand Tourer experience.
The James Bond inspiration extends into the vehicle’s molecular structure. Byzek’s exterior features an Arctic Grey hue developed in the Helderburg laboratory. This is a unique formulation engineered to react to light with the moody, sophisticated tonality of a cinematic masterpiece.

“This colour undergoes a captivating metamorphosis, transitioning from a gentle, light blue-grey to a deep, commanding charcoal, depending on the lighting conditions, which further enhances its appeal,” Paul explained.
Byzek stands as a clear signal to the market. Helderburg is a design and engineering house that stands alone. By prioritising in-house systems and original design over sourced parts, Paul has created a vehicle that is not comparable to any other Defender build in existence.
