The latest collection from Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons explores human nature and basic instincts as tools for creativity, channelling automatic responses and primitive urges.
The pair christened the autumn-winter 25 menswear collection ‘savage elegance’ with Miuccia Prada speaking of resisting the influence of artificial intelligence and seeking spontaneous, honest self-expression.
Show looks brought together surprising elements – pointy cowboy boots paired with brightly hued, silk cigarette pants; tight floral tees atop worn jeans; satin pyjama pants joined by faded checks and car coats worn bare chested.
Classic button-down shirts and knitted sweaters peaked from below nylon parka-style coats and a muted palette of greys, browns, beiges and navy got an occasional kick of gaudy mauves and reds.

There was even a hint of 1970s-style flower power accompanied by multiple touches of faux fur – Prada swore off the real thing back in 2020, but these flourishes look just as luxurious and funky – and even patchwork leather suiting. Cartoonish basketball charms put the finishing touch, hanging from zips and bags for a taste of light relief, while knitwear was adorned with metal symbols without specific meaning, like protective amulets.
Throughout the collection, each piece speaks of intention to buck the latest trends, a yearning for dressing that’s an expression of personal style rather than bowing to socialmedia-influenced looks and feelings. A movement Prada refers to as a deep exploration of human nature and emotional impulse.
