With earth-toned hues and chic tweed, Breitling’s newest capsule collection takes its cues from a trek through the Scottish Highlands. Breitling’s 1950s-era SuperOcean dive watch was designed to take its stylish wearers from sea to shore and back again. Now, the new Superocean Heritage ’57 Highlands Capsule Collection invites Breitling fans on a new coastal journey: exploring the rocky shores and misty peaks of the Scottish Highlands.
“All our capsule collections tell a different story. For the Superocean Heritage ’57 Highlands Capsule Collection, we wanted to evoke a very specific feeling of walking in the Scottish Highlands,” said Breitling CEO Georges Kern of the exclusive collection. “From the moment you set out in a tweed jacket and wool sweater, to a day spent roaming windswept cliffs, to that welcome return home to warm up by a crackling fire, dog at your side. The Highlands Capsule Collection is designed to be there every step of the way.”
As a capsule collection, the range counts a limited volume, available for a limited time. Each piece comes at a 38 mm diameter, featuring vibrant land-and-sea-inspired dial colours of beige, green, mustard, and blue. Like their vintage SuperOcean predecessor, they feature mid-century-inspired triangular indexes marking the hours.
Always in Season
One distinctly Scottish detail showcased throughout the Highlands Capsule Collection: a tweed-inspired fabric strap, made of a sumptuous blend of silk and wool. All the watches are sold on a metal mesh bracelet, while the complementary fabric strap comes in a separate pouch, along with a springboard tool for easy strap changes.
Each subtly speckled, tweed-inspired strap complements its coloured dial: the blue version is paired with a dark brown strap, the beige dial with a classic brown strap, and both the green and the mustard-toned dials with a green strap. For those who like to mix and match, an additional blue strap can be purchased separately.
The watches feature stainless-steel cases and ultra-hard, scratch- and shock-resistant ceramic bezels rimmed in 18k red gold. Find a luminescent dot on the bidirectional rotating bezel—a nod to the Superocean’s origins as a dive watch.
Every piece in the collection is powered by the Breitling Caliber 10, which offers a power reserve of approximately 42 hours when not in use. Like all Breitling watches, they are COSC-certified (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres) chronometers, an independent confirmation of their precision and performance.
So whether you’re out strolling along a craggy shoreline, taking shelter in a country inn, or just navigating your daily life, the Superocean Heritage ’57 Highlands Capsule Collection is all about style and function—with a story to tell.
