Aston Martin marks the end of the current DBS production with the fierce limited-edition DBS 770 Ultimate.
Aston Martin, a name synonymous with luxury, performance and style, has announced the release of its latest limited-edition super GT – the DBS 770 Ultimate. With only 499 units being produced, this model is offered in both Coupe and Volante form and set to be a highly sought-after collector’s item. Built in strictly limited numbers, there are 300 Coupes and 199 Volantes available, with all examples already sold out.
This ferocious farewell to the current DBS production range is the most powerful production Aston Martin ever made. Its uprated V12 engine delivers outputs of 770PS and 900Nm, making it the fastest and most powerful DBS to date. The engine’s modifications include air and ignition pathways, as well as a seven per cent increase in maximum turbo boost pressure. The precise tuning of power and torque curves gives the driver an exceptional response, outstanding in-gear acceleration and the authentic V12 soundtrack. Power is fed through a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission and a mechanical Limited-Slip Differential (LSD) located at the rear of the vehicle.
“When an iconic model generation reaches the end of production, it is important to mark the occasion with something special,” said Roberto Fedeli, Aston Martin Chief Technology Officer. “In the case of the DBS 770 Ultimate, we have spared nothing in ensuring the final version of our current series production flagship is the best-ever in every respect.”
This exclusive model pays homage to Aston Martin’s premier Super GT and has undergone significant modifications to boost its performance, driver engagement and make a bold visual statement. The company has focused on enhancing the suspension, steering, transmission and underbody structure to emphasise the vehicle’s responsiveness, agility and overall driving experience.
The DBS 770 Ultimate also introduces a solid mounted steering column to improve the responsiveness of the steering and provide more detailed feedback. This enhancement enables the driver to establish a more precise connection with the road ahead, allowing a confident feel of the front tyres and to accurately measure the available grip. Additionally, the front-end lateral stiffness has been improved by 25%, enhancing maximum performance feel and response.
The vehicle’s eye-catching design modifications comprise a dramatic horse-shoe engine vent and a fresh front splitter that integrates two new outboard vents to enhance cooling. Further design alterations include standard 2×2 twill carbon fibre cantrail, windscreen surround, mirror caps and fender louvre. The addition of a carbon fibre sill element gives the impression of a lowered side profile towards the rear wheel, enhancing the DBS’ muscular physique and creating a poised stance. The distinctive rear diffuser design ensures aerodynamic equilibrium from front to back and renders the DBS 770 Ultimate effortlessly recognisable from the rear. Furthermore, the model is characterised by a new and unique 21-inch, multi-spoke design, available in three finishes – full Satin Silver for a bright jewellery appearance, full Satin Black for a contemporary and sporting appearance or optional Satin Black with Diamond Turned finish for a darker, yet sophisticated appearance.
“DBS has always sat at the pinnacle of the Aston Martin production model lineup,” said Aston Martin Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman. “And now we’re infusing DBS 770 Ultimate with even more… more power, more performance purity and all with more sophistication, more taste and in the most considered manner. Something so raw and yet so beautiful, it’s almost intimidating to look at.”
The production of the DBS 770 Ultimate began in the first quarter of 2023 and first deliveries are expected to commence in the third quarter of 2023.
