Versace’s latest collection blends youth with heritage coupled with architectural touches.
The Spring-Summer 2024 collection from Versace takes its starting point from youth, personal confidence and the energy of city living. The creations are conceived to take the wearer through any life experience, from essential wardrobe pieces to fierce eveningwear based on a foundation of atelier know-how and perfect tailoring.
The powerful silhouettes of the Autumn-Winter 2023 collection become light, sculptural and sleek. The use of sharp architecture is seen in three-dimensional structured necklines and streamlined collarless jackets. Atelier pieces are pared back to their fundamentals and Versace denim takes a sartorial approach with metal mesh inserts.
In terms of materials, contrast is key such as the graphic checkerboard patterns with delicate embroidery. The Versace Contrasto checkerboard is expressed in new fabric manipulation techniques including jacquard organic silk-blend duchesse, textural macramé and RWS-certified responsibly sourced wool crepe tweed. The signature Barocco print is rendered as an emboss in silk-blend duchesse and as macramé borders.
And the colour pattern is very Versace with a mix of pastels running through light neutrals to dark ruby, black and white. Colour and shape share in the vibrancy and optimism of the 1960s, but are super modern in the shine of materials, folding of fabrics and the play of transparency. A sense of youthful freshness, freedom and fun comes from the irreverent layering of tailored jackets, silk shirts, and micro shorts. The predominant silhouette of the season is typically sharp and clean. Men’s tailoring features pinched waist jackets and shirts worn with wide flaring pants, and the utilitarian feeling of accessories extends to ready-to-wear.
