Experience the fusion of fashion and eyewear as Balenciaga introduces its iconic sunglasses to the world of couture.
French fashion house, Balenciaga, has unveiled eyewear for the first time as part of its Couture collection, debuting the line during the recent 52nd Couture Collection presentation in Paris. Crafted from prized materials, such as 18-carat gold, the limited-edition sunglasses combine high fashion with precious metals for an ultra-luxe accessory.
Leading the collection are the REGATA frames, made from solid, die-cast 18-carat gold, making a seriously opulent style statement. For those with a sportier taste, the HRH sunglasses, short for ‘his/her royal highness’, offer a wraparound style in galvanic 18-carat gold or palladium-plated milled aluminium. Both the REGATA and HRH feature lenses made of mirror-coated bio-nylon, treated in real gold or platinum. Eco-conscious customers will appreciate the BLACKOUT line, made of wood pulp cellulose and landfill-bound material. The extra dark-tinted mineral glass lenses in acetate, finished with 18-carat gold-plated temples, are the perfect blend of sustainability and style.
Select pieces from the collection are now available online and in Balenciaga’s Paris couture boutique. For an intimate, personalised experience, customers can book an in-store appointment to have pieces fitted and customised from a range of colour options. This marks an exciting shift towards greater accessibility in the typically exclusive world of high fashion couture. Balenciaga is embracing innovation and opening its doors to a wider audience of fashion lovers.
