Montblanc captivating new collection

TIMELESS ELEGANCE MEETS NATURAL BEAUTY

Montblanc, renowned for its luxurious timepieces, has unveiled a captivating new collection that explores a different facet of the iconic Mont Blanc mountain.

Montblanc’s latest Star Legacy Grey Capsule collection is a testament to the majestic mountain’s south-facing rocky side, where snow struggles to settle on the vertical face. Building on the triumph of the Montblanc Star Legacy Blue Capsule, which showcased an enchanting blue glacier pattern on the dial, the watchmaker introduces a novel outlook with its newest addition.

This line draws inspiration from the mesmerising textures of the rock formations, presenting a sophisticated grey glacier pattern dial design that captures the essence of this awe-inspiring landscape. The colour palette draws inspiration from the exposed cold rock on the south side of Mont Blanc, presenting a new face of elegance that reflects the mountain’s unique charm.

Composed predominantly of granite, the Mont Blanc massif showcases myriad shades of grey and flecks of gold within its internal structure. The formation of this magnificent mountain dates back over 100 million years, resulting from the collision between the African and European tectonic plates. As time passed, successive periods of glaciation moulded Mont Blanc into the natural wonder we see today.

The Montblanc Star Legacy Collection is characterised by an array of exquisite design elements. Drawing inspiration from Minerva pocket watches of the early 20th century, these timepieces feature pebble-shaped cases, domed sapphire crystals, onion crowns, railway minute track and leaf-shaped hands. Additionally, the iconic Montblanc emblem is present on the crown and seconds hand, creating a distinct signature style.

The Montblanc Star Legacy Automatic Date 39mm model exudes elegance with its stainless-steel case, rose-gold-coated hands and Arabic numerals. Complementing the captivating grey glacier pattern dial, the brand emblem is displayed on the seconds hand and above the date, intersecting every minute.

For those who appreciate complications, the Montblanc Star Legacy Moonphase 42mm offers a captivating display of the moon phases at six o’clock, seamlessly blending with the grey glacier pattern backdrop. This model boasts an elegant rose gold-coated moon and stars on a blue background, encircled by a round date indicator.

Perfectly blending elegance and legibility, the Montblanc Star Legacy Chronograph 42mm features two counters at three and nine o’clock. The grey glacier pattern dial subtly enhances the background, while the filet sauté pattern is replaced with an inner flange to add volume to the dial. The timekeeping functions are elegantly displayed with leaf-shaped hands coated in rose gold, while the chronograph indications are accentuated by rhodiumcoated ‘baton’ hands.

These three exceptional models from the Montblanc Star Legacy Grey Capsule collection are fitted with an interchangeable alligator print grey calf leather strap and limited to 1,786 pieces, commemorating Jacques Balmat’s legendary first ascent of Mont Blanc in 1786. Jacques, captivated by the mountain’s allure, ventured in search of gold, making his story an integral part of the collection’s narrative. To pay homage to this adventurer, the dials of these exquisite timepieces are adorned with rose gold-coated indexes and hands, creating an elegant contrast against the grey glacier pattern.

Presenting impeccable craftsmanship, timeless elegance and limited availability, these exquisite timepieces are a testament to Montblanc’s commitment to luxury and the art of watchmaking.
